London Life

Tomorrow will mark exactly one month since the big move! (Three weeks of that which were begrudgingly spent without any form of wifi connection) - but also crammed with fresh faces, new places, and days which have all blurred together into one!

At the moment I feel as if work is my life - even though I am still working a menial 9 hours a day within retail...being down here in London is HARD! My days are filled with Topshop and running around for customers ( the norm) but everything is ten times faster, busier, and more stressful! All I want to do is spend time with my lovely boyfriend (who I had to live without for 6 months whilst I scoured the internet for jobs in London) and there are so many exciting and amazing new things I want to visit and experience...I feel like I haven't got enough time to fit it all in! Here are a couple of places I can't wait to visit;

The Horniman Museum and Gardens

Lots of Natural History, taxidermy, an aquarium.....and a colossal stuffed walrus!...What more could you ask for?! There are also 16 acres of stunning gardens which are free for the public to roam.

Prince Charles Cinema
 Situated right in the middle of  Leicester Square - this place sounds uh-mayyzing. Haven't you just always wanted to watch all your favourite old films on the big screen? That's exactly what this place does. Classics such as Clueless to Casablanca are shown here on a regular basis...and it's Beer & Pizza night on Sundays and Thursdays (!!!)

One week to go..

Although my plans to make the big move to London have been spread over the past six or seven months, it only hit home and felt real to me yesterday - when I worked my last day at Topshop in Leamington Spa.

 A lot can happen over the course of three years - and I can definitely say working at Topshop changed my life forever. I escaped from an awful job that I was in before - quickly started at Topshop and found that I was working with literally the best group of people ever. I met my amazing boyfriend, had some awesome times and finally realised what route I wanted to take in life - to work within the fashion industry.

Now, obviously all things do come to an end at some point - and people leave, people change and the awesome times don't last forever. I know that I'm not the only one here who feels that after you get past the 21/22 year old mark in your life, you start to have some sort of awful, manic quarter-life crisis in which you realise you really should do something with your life (If you aren't lucky enough to have had the opportunity already!)

I'm a firm believer in that old saying that "everything happens for a reason"  and although the past few months have been horrible in terms of work and life - it is what has really pushed me to make a change and make the best life I can for myself - to go out there and explore and enjoy every possibility there is! (gay)

Although I am sad that all my good times at Topshop did dry up, I am incredibly grateful to have had such an amazing and valuable three years there..and I can't wait to see what opportunity and experience London brings for me.

Leaving Leamington for London

It's a well known fact that most people are scared of change; terrifying, unpredictable, life-altering change. It seems I have made the decision to take the plunge and immerse myself into this self inflicted state of nerve-wracking, shit-your-pants uncertainty. I am changing my job, my location, and my life entirely - and I can't wait.
After a painful eight month job search, I have finally managed to get the job - tell my manager i'm quitting - tell my family I am leaving, and managed to unstuck myself from the rut I'd found myself in. Now all my boyfriend and I need to do is find somewhere to live - in less than three weeks (oh god)

Hopefully this blog will be somewhere I can update and document my whole adventure along the way - with a few stories, a lot of pictures and hopefully not too many disasters!
